Legal Profession in Tanzania: The Law & Practice is a study of the law and practice relating to the private legal profession in Tanzania. It shows that the profession has played and continues to play an important and indispensable role in the operation of the common law system and its adversarial procedure which form the backbone of the countrys legal order. However, certain shortcomings exist in some areas of the professional regime which call for serious reflection on the part of the profession and authorities involved in its practical application. The book proposes changes with a view to addressing the deficiencies that presently exist by suggesting positive reforms on the existing framework. Their adoption would ensure a remarkably improved professional structure. The author is currently a judge in the High Court of Tanzania.
